CHENREZIG RETREAT – 1-DAY, SEPTEMBER 9th

1-day retreat – Saturday, September  9

Chenrezig Empowerment, Teachings, and Practice with Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche.

  • On Saturday morning Drupon Thinley Ningpo will give the empowerment of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. This ritual introduces participants to the enlightened nature of our body, speech, and mind and authorizes us to practice the visualization, mantra recitation, and meditation of Chenrezig. The practice of the peaceful Buddha Chenrezig is renowned as powerful method to nurture positive qualities of love and compassion, and wisdom.
  • On Saturday afternoon Drupon will give the oral transmission of the liturgical practice (sadhana) of Chenrezig, teach how to perform it, and lead group practice. During the practice sessions Drupon will also offer instruction in other meditation methods such as the generation of love, calm abiding, and insight meditation. He will explain how to blend these with meditation on Chenrezig. This will be your chance to engage directly in the practice!

RESOURCES:

In order for the disciples to gain a deeper understanding on receiving empowerments, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche specially gave an introduction to “self-empowerment.” Rinpoche said, “If you understand the nature of the deity and generate bodhicitta, you may take a self-empowerment and engage in the practice.” For this purpose, Rinpoche specially introduces The Samadhi Empowerment written by Lord Jigten Sumgon. Disciples may take a self-empowerment by practicing this sadhana at home:
